How about to add some colour in your tail command?
What is CCZE?
CCZE is a roboust and modular log colorizer, with plugins for apm, exim, fetchmail, httpd, postfix, procmail, squid, syslog, ulogd, vsftpd, xferlog and more.
Installation:
sudo yum install ccze -y
Usage on my system:
When in a terminal session I am mostly logged in as user root.
tail -f /var/log/messages | ccze
To make usage a little more convenient I have added the following code to /root/.bashrc
# Added for ccze to tail
tailc () {
tail $@ | ccze -A
}
Now you can just run
tailc -f /var/log/messages
Check it out yourself. It’s cool in my opinion.
